Old Lady Leary

Late last night, when we were all in bed,

Old Lady Leary hung a lantern in the shed

And when the cow kicked it over,

She winked her eye and said,

There’ll be a hot time in the old town tonight!

Fire! Fire! Fire!

Pour on water, pour on water!

Save my children, save my children!

Jump, lady, jump!

Huh!

Motions: Repeat song, taking out italicized words one by one and only doing actions

Bed – hands to cheek like sleeping

Lantern – act like you are lighting a “candle”

Kicked – back kick like a cow

Winked – wink eye

Hot time – fan face with hands

Fire – flick both hands in front you

Pour on water – act like you are throwing water from a bucket on a fire

Save my children – hands on cheeks, looking one way and then the other way

Jump – jump

Huh! – lift one knee and pull both arms back
